ABOUT

The Performance School of Comedy is a new school dedicated to the craft of comedy. ​​Take one of our classes and you become part of a comedy community.​ With regular free events, class shows and a lounge space, our studio is a place to cultivate conversation amongst comedy performers, enthusiasts and industry professionals.

 

As a small venue, our studio nickname is The Rainbow Den. ​We can seat 25 audience members for shows and our lounge area seats 10. 

 

Our school has carefully tailored innovative course offerings, class sizes of 6-12 that offer individual attention and a dedicated full service support team.

​

Show videography for actors and performed works or table reading events for writers is guaranteed from classes.​ Our acting, headshot and film studio gives you access to all the services you need. We also offer coaching and career consultations. 

​

We have exciting comedy offerings now and to come in 2025 beyond our improv and sketch program, such as classes/workshops in musical theater, puppetry, clown/mime, dance improv, directing, stage management, filmmaking, freestyle rap, history of NYC comedy and more. ​​​

The Performance School of Comedy is founded in partnership with

Alphabet City Laughs Productions LLC, an LGBTQIA comedy production company.

​We book shows regularly with WOW Cafe Theater, a women, trans and nonbinary collective in the East Village. The director of school is in training as a member of the collective.
